Looking to save at AO.com? The best way for students to cut the price of a new laptop, TV, phone or appliance at AO is through its deals and promotions, collected in the offer cards on this page. They’re not student-only codes, just good AO.com deals any student can use. Big-ticket buyers can also save with AO Membership or refurbished tech from AO Outlet.
How to use the AO.com deals on this page
- Pick a deal from the cards above and open it.
- Read the terms. Many AO promotions only cover selected brands or models.
- Shop through the link. If the card shows a code, add it at checkout before you pay.
- For cashback offers, look out for AO’s claim form. AO says it emails the form after delivery, so check your spam folder if it doesn’t arrive.
Ways students can save at AO.com
Check AO’s brand promotions page
AO keeps a discounts and promotions page listing manufacturer offers, such as cashback and extended warranties on selected brands. It’s worth checking before you buy a TV, laptop or kitchen appliance, as the extras can be worth more than a small price difference elsewhere.
Think about refurbished from AO Outlet
Everything on ao.com is brand new, but AO also sells refurbished electricals through AO Outlet, with a 1-year warranty across the range. For a student laptop or a flat-share fridge, refurbished can be a sensible way to spend less.
Do the maths on AO Membership
AO Membership costs £39.99 a year when we checked. It includes member prices, free unlimited delivery (including next day where available), 100-day returns and free Unpack, Remove & Recycle on large appliances. You need to be 18 or over and live in the UK outside Northern Ireland, and you must be logged in to My Account at checkout for member prices to apply. It can pay off on one big purchase, but it’s probably not worth it for a single small item.
Know the returns rules
AO gives you 30 days to return an unused product, and smaller items can be dropped off for free at Drop at Shop locations. Larger items have a collection charge. Check the returns page before you order something bulky for your room.
How can students save at AO.com?
Use the live deals on this page, check AO’s brand promotions for cashback or warranty extras, and compare new with refurbished from AO Outlet. If you’re buying a large appliance, work out whether AO Membership’s free delivery and member prices cover its annual fee.
Can I use an AO.com code on sale items?
It depends on the offer. Many AO promotions are limited to selected products and may not combine with other discounts, so read the terms on each card before you check out.
Is it worth buying refurbished from AO Outlet as a student?
It can be. AO Outlet sells refurbished electricals with a 1-year warranty across the range, which makes it a lower-risk way to buy a cheaper laptop, TV or appliance. Compare the refurbished price with any live new-product deal on this page first.
